The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his comments on the massive attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine on July 21, 2025. According to the leader's report, hostile shelling caused significant damage in various regions of the country.
In his Telegram, Zelensky reported that rescue and emergency operations are currently underway in Ukrainian cities that were affected by missile strikes from Russia. Several facilities were damaged during the attack in Kyiv, Kharkiv region, and Ivano-Frankivsk region, as well as drones were shot down in various other regions of the country.

In his statement, the President noted that attacks from Russia are always aimed at the civilian population, leading to fires in kindergartens and residential buildings in Kyiv, as well as the destruction of peaceful homes in Kharkiv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
Fifteen people were injured, including the youngest victim — a 12-year-old boy. All the injured are receiving assistance. During the attack, two people were killed, — said the head of state.
According to Zelensky, throughout the night, Russia launched over 420 drones and more than 20 missiles, including ballistic ones. The attacks continued throughout the night and into the morning. In the morning, drones were launched again in the Kharkiv region. The President emphasized that it is necessary to continue developing drone interception systems to protect against massive attacks.
In the morning of July 21, strong explosions occurred in Kyiv due to the attack by the Russians on the capital, particularly at the 'Lukyanivska' metro station.
Zelensky described the Russian attack as brutal and merciless, aimed at the civilian population and civil infrastructure, emphasizing the need to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian cities and communities from similar threats.
