Land for Combat Veterans - Which Plots Can Veterans Obtain.

Combat veterans have the right to priority access to land plots. This right is enshrined in legislation and allows them to receive state or municipal land free of charge for personal needs, construction, or agriculture. However, today this right is partially restricted due to the war.
The law specifies clear maximum areas of land plots that can be transferred into ownership for combat veterans, emphasizes lawyer Larysa Velychko in a comment to '24 Channel'.
Sizes of land plots for Combat Veterans:
- for gardening - up to 0.12 ha;
- for residential construction - up to 0.25 ha in a village, 0.15 ha in a settlement, 0.10 ha in a city;
- for summer cottage construction - up to 0.10 ha;
- for personal farming - up to 2 ha.
Procedure for submitting a land application for Combat Veterans
To exercise this right, combat veterans must submit a written request to the executive authority or local self-government. The request should indicate the intended purpose and approximate area of the desired plot.
The following documents must be attached to the application:
- graphic materials indicating the desired location;
- documents confirming identity and supporting the combat veteran status;
- consent from the land user (if the land is already in use);
- documents about agricultural education or experience (for farming plots).
How the land management project is developed
After receiving a positive response, a land management project is ordered. It is executed by a licensed land surveyor. The execution period is up to 6 months.
'The engineer-land surveyor fixes the boundaries of the plot, compiles a cadastral plan, and forms technical documentation for entering data into the cadastral register', explains Velychko.
The presented news discusses the right of combat veterans to obtain land plots and the procedure for this process. The legislation defines maximum areas of plots for various activities that combat veterans can obtain. To exercise this right, it is necessary to submit a written request and attach the required documentation. A detailed description of the procedure and requirements for developing the land management project is also provided in the article.Read also
