Payments to Ukrainian refugees increase 34 times: who can receive money in Sweden.

The Swedish government is considering increasing financial assistance for migrants who want to return to their country. This was stated by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. According to him, the amount of assistance could be raised to 32 thousand euros per adult, which is an increase compared to the current level of 900 euros.
According to the Swedish Migration Agency, the existing aid program is not effective enough, as only one in 70 applications for return is approved.
Taking into account Denmark's experience, the Swedish government has decided to increase financial aid to ease the lives of those who wish to return to their homeland and have no opportunity to establish a full life in Sweden.
'I think this method may not be effective for many people, but we have a problem with integration. If people have a legal right to stay in Sweden but do not integrate and do not value the Swedish way of life, they may consider returning to their country of origin,' Kristersson said.
The implementation of the new program is planned for January 1, 2026.
It is worth noting that Denmark had previously implemented a similar financial assistance program for the return of migrants to their countries of origin.
