Veterans have the right to free dental treatment and prosthetics in medical institutions. Services are available regardless of place of residence or registration.

What free services can veterans access

The ministry reported that veterans can receive free services in medical institutions that have signed contracts with the NHIF.

The list of free services includes:

• initial examination and consultation;
• X-ray diagnostics;
• treatment of caries and its complications;
• therapy for traumatic and non-traumatic injuries;
• anatomical restoration of teeth;
• extraction of teeth and calculus;
• splinting;
• anesthesia;
• emergency dental assistance;
• barrier-free access to services.

It is noted that the number of services and treated teeth is determined by the doctor, taking into account individual needs, within a limit of up to UAH 24,952.

How to access services for free

To utilize all the above-mentioned services free of charge, one must contact a medical institution that has a contract with the NHIF and fill out an application. Original passport, identification code, and certificate confirming veteran status must also be presented (combatant, person with disabilities due to war, serviceman).

Dental prosthetics services are available at 45 medical institutions in Ukraine that have a contract with the NHIF for this purpose. The complete list can be found on the web portal.

It should be noted that in 2025, the state program 'Affordable Medicines' was expanded. The list of free or partially covered medications was supplemented with drugs that consider the needs of servicemen.

Additionally, NHIF head Natalya Husak stated during a press conference that 'Affordable Medicines' remain one of the key tools for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and support for patients with chronic illnesses.

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine has released information that veterans have the opportunity to receive free dental treatment and prosthetics in medical institutions, regardless of place of residence or registration. To do this, it is necessary to contact a medical institution with a contract with the NHIF and fill out the necessary documents. This is an important initiative aimed at improving medical care for veterans and supporting their health.
