Ukrainians have been told at what age they can drive a car.
As reported by 'Hvylya', this is stated on the website of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In Ukraine, there is a system of age restrictions for drivers of various types of transport. It should be noted that violations of these requirements entail the same consequences regardless of the category of the vehicle.
Therefore, in order to legally drive any type of transport on the territory of Ukraine, you must have a valid driver's license of the appropriate category.
The minimum age for obtaining a driver's license depends on the category:
- Mopeds and motorcycles - allowed from 16 years old
- Passenger cars and trucks - from 18 years old
- Vehicles with trailers and articulated vehicles - from 19 years old
- Passenger buses - from 21 years old.
To obtain a driver's license, the candidate must pass exams - both theoretical and practical - at specialized centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Driver's licenses are not issued to those who have not reached the minimum age established for a specific category of transport.
Ukrainian legislation provides for financial sanctions for violating age requirements for drivers. If a 16-year-old teenager gets behind the wheel without the appropriate documents, a fine of 3400 hryvnias is imposed on them. If a minor younger than 16 is driving, their parents or legal representatives are held responsible.
The age gradation for obtaining a driver's license in Ukraine has the following features:
- From 18 years old, it is allowed to drive ATVs, passenger cars (category 'B') and trucks with a weight of up to 7.5 tons (category 'C').
- From 19 years old, it opens the possibility to drive vehicles with heavy trailers: this applies to categories BЕ (passenger car with a trailer over 750 kg) and CЕ (trucks with trailers).
- Driving passenger transport - buses and minibuses - is only allowed from 21 years old.
Let us remind you what awaits drivers at gas stations in the near future.
