Fishing banned in Ukraine: what awaits violators from November 1.

Ukrainian waters introduced bans on fishing in wintering pits
From November 1, the autumn-winter ban on catching aquatic bioresources in Ukrainian waters began. This information was published in the "Legal Telegram".
In the cold period, fish become especially vulnerable; they gather in natural depressions of water bodies and spend the winter in a state of reduced activity. The introduction of seasonal restrictions on fishing is an important measure for their protection. These restrictions will be in effect until the beginning of the spawning period in 2025.
However, it is worth noting that fishing during this period is allowed, but not in wintering pits. If the body of water is covered with ice, then any winter fishing rods or poles are allowed.
If there is no ice cover, fishing is allowed in the following ways: fly fishing, bottom fishing, float fishing rod, or spinning.
During fishing, one angler may have no more than 7 hooks, regardless of whether they use natural or artificial bait. It is also forbidden to use hooks where the distance from the shank to the tip of the barb exceeds 10 mm during the freezing period.
Violation of the fishing rules during this period may have serious consequences. The angler may be fined, held criminally liable, or be required to pay compensation for damage caused to fish resources.
