An Autonomous AI Turret Sky Sentinel Created in Ukraine to Intercept Russian Drones.


Ukrainian Engineers Introduced the Air Defense System 'Sky Sentinel'
Ukrainian engineers have developed a new air defense system called Sky Sentinel. This autonomous turret with artificial intelligence can independently detect and shoot down Russian drones and missiles without human involvement. Due to its successful efforts against Russian weaponry, the system was nicknamed 'Shahed Hunter'.
The Sky Sentinel system impresses with its capabilities: it can rotate 360 degrees and hit targets moving at speeds of up to 800 kilometers per hour. In addition, it has successfully dealt with loitering munitions and cruise missiles, having a greater coverage than just shooting down drones.
'Deploy Sky Sentinel at the combat position, provide it with radar data, and it will do the rest: detect, capture the target, track flight trajectories, calculate the shot, and open fire. All by itself.'
Engineers also spoke about the technical challenges they faced during the development of Sky Sentinel. Special attention was paid to avoiding mechanical play in the turret's mechanisms. Foreign components are used for targeting and range determination, but all software solutions were developed by Ukrainian specialists.
Such innovations in the military field not only enhance Ukraine's technical potential but also demonstrate the competence of Ukrainian engineers in developing advanced technologies for ensuring national security. Implementing such innovative solutions allows Ukrainian military forces to effectively protect the country in the face of modern threats.
