Prices for some vegetables have jumped in Ukraine: how much are potatoes, cabbage, onions and carrots.


Update on vegetable prices in Ukrainian supermarkets
According to the Minfin portal, prices for popular vegetables in Ukrainian supermarkets changed at the end of August. The summer season is usually characterized by a rich supply of local vegetables in markets and shops. However, various factors affect their cost, and this does not always lead to lower prices. During this period, there is a spike in prices for potatoes and cabbage, while onions and carrots have become cheaper.
Specifically, as of August 29, the price of potatoes increased from 15.80 UAH/kg to 24.90 UAH/kg, and young potatoes from 21.79 UAH/kg to 24.61 UAH/kg.
Prices for cabbage also increased: young cabbage rose from 16.41 UAH/kg to 30.58 UAH/kg, and white cabbage from 32.69 UAH/kg.
During the indicated period, the price of white onions decreased from 96.17 UAH/kg to 34.87 UAH/kg, onions from 22.97 UAH/kg to 19.00 UAH/kg, and red onions from 53.87 UAH/kg to 29.55 UAH/kg.
At the same Time, the price of carrots decreased from 30.68 UAH/kg to 12.30 UAH/kg.
At the moment, there is no information on changes in prices for other vegetables.
It is worth noting that there are also questions about the prices of oranges, lemons, and bananas at the end of summer.
