The U-20 national team of Ukraine is preparing for the World Cup 2025
As part of the preparation for the U-20 World Cup 2025, which will take place in Chile from September 27 to October 19, the youth team of Ukraine (U-20) will play two friendly matches in Spain. The team, led by Dmytro Mykhailenko, will face the national teams of Morocco (U-20) on June 6 and the USA (U-19) on June 10.
The U-19 youth team of Ukraine secured participation in the U-20 World Cup by reaching the semifinals of Euro 2024 in Northern Ireland. The competitions at the World Cup 2025 will take place in five cities in Chile, starting with the group stage, in which 24 teams from six confederations will participate.
The draw for the World Cup 2025 (U-20) will take place in the summer (the date has yet to be determined). The seeding will be based on the total points gained by the country in the last five U-20 World Cups – 2023 (100%), 2019 (80%), 2017 (60%), 2015 (40%), 2013 (20%).
Recently, the composition of all 24 participants in the U-20 World Cup has been announced. Among them are teams from Europe, CONCACAF, South America, Asia, Oceania, and Africa. Currently, Uruguay is the title defender, while Ukraine became the champion in 2019 under the leadership of Oleksandr Petrakov.
Therefore, the preparation for the U-20 World Cup includes several friendly matches of the Ukrainian team, which aims to show itself in the best light at the tournament in Chile.
