On the Memorial Day for the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people, the 'Cultural Forces' platform released a unique track - the song Ey, güzel Qırım ('My beautiful Crimea'), performed by Ukrainian civilian and military artists. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.
This is a symbolic work for the Crimean Tatar people, written during the Time of deportation. It is actually a memory of the homeland, filled with a desire to return. Ukrainian singers performed this song in the Crimean Tatar language.
This project is a support for the Crimean Tatar people, the soldiers from Crimea who are fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces, and those who remain in occupation in Crimea. It serves as a reminder of the historical closeness and mutual understanding between the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar peoples.
'Ey, güzel Qırım' - the voice of solidarity of Ukrainians with the Crimean Tatar peopleThe song Ey, güzel Qırım is performed by Oleg Skrypka, Yaryna Kvasniy, Vitaliy Kirichenko, Anastasia Voytiuk, Pavlo Hots, Serhiy Martyniuk, Maria Kvitka, Ismail Kurt-Umer. As a reminder, today, May 18, Ukraine honors the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people. This is the Day of Struggle for the Rights of the Crimean Tatars. Their deportation in May 1944 is one of the greatest crimes of the Soviet regime, a genocide of the indigenous people of the peninsula.
By the way, since the moment of the occupation of Crimea by Russian troops, the occupiers have resettled more than 1 million of their own citizens to the peninsula.
The song 'Ey, güzel Qırım' has become an important symbol of solidarity of the Ukrainian people with the Crimean Tatar people, who have been subjected to terrible historical events, forgotten by many. Its performance best illustrates the desire of Ukrainians to support historical justice and recognition of human rights for all peoples.
