They Keep Chickens and a Beehive: 97-Year-Old Twin Grandmothers Live in a Village in Khmelnytskyi.

Twin Grandmothers from Khmelnytskyi: Longevity and a Shared Life Path
Sisters Yevheniya Rep'yuk and Antonina Bilokur, who are 97 years old, live in the village of Zalissya, in the Starokostyantyniv community of Khmelnytskyi. They grow their own bees and make honey. Their incredibly synchronized life path allows them to support each other and provide help in difficult moments.
The girls were born in wooden houses and were raised together, sharing the existence of having 5 children in each family. Despite now living in separate houses, they constantly visit each other. Yevheniya has a daughter who regularly brings her necessary groceries, as there are no shops in their village. Antonina Bilokur receives meat and other products from the city.
The sisters have been engaged in beekeeping and honey production throughout their lives. Each of them has their own chickens and bees. Antonina recalls that she once had three husbands, but they died, and now she chops wood for heating all by herself.
The Holodomor and World War II witnessed the lives of these twin grandmothers. They speak of harsh winters when it was very cold and how they struggled to survive this difficult period.
A massive bee sting incident occurred in their village of Zalissya. Yevheniya wears a special suit that protects her from it, although the sting still penetrates through the suit.
The women dream of becoming the oldest twins in Ukraine, but the start of the war with Russia postponed the registration of their achievement.
In Transcarpathia, a 103-year-old teacher revealed the secret of her longevity.
