The US will continue to assist Ukraine
During the conversation, Trump told Zelensky that he instructed the Pentagon to conduct an inventory check of weapon supplies. This occurred after the US attack on nuclear facilities in Iran. Trump also emphasized that he is not to blame for the freeze on the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
According to WSJ, the conversation between the leaders took place after failed attempts to reach a peace agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine during a conversation with Putin.
'Trump assured Zelensky that the US would provide as much military assistance as possible, sources reported. However, according to a Pentagon representative, the supplies remain on standby.'
Prior to this, the US Department of Defense announced the shipment of additional defensive arms to Ukraine at Trump's direction. Trump himself has also emphasized his strong support for Ukraine, believing that there would have been no war under his presidency.
The Ukrainian leader received support from the US president regarding the continuation of military assistance, which is an important step in strengthening the country's defense capabilities amid geopolitical tensions.
