USA and South Korea to hold joint military exercises with amphibious ships landing.


The USA and South Korea have announced joint military exercises named Ssangyong ("Double Dragon"). According to the information from the Navy and the Marine Corps of South Korea, the exercises will last from August 26 to September 7 and will include amphibious ship landings.
It is noted that the exercises will take place in the city of Pohang and on the east coast. The main goal of the exercises is to enhance the combat readiness and operational compatibility of both countries. For this purpose, it is planned to involve division amphibious forces and about 40 ships, as well as 40 aircraft and amphibious assault vehicles.
This Time, the USA and South Korea will be joined by forces of the British Royal Marines, who will once again participate in these exercises. It is worth noting that the annual Ssangyong exercises were resumed in March last year after a long hiatus.
