Russian troops have carried out the largest airstrikes on Ukraine. Russia has launched massive air strikes on the territory of Ukraine during its full-scale invasion, leading to a sharp increase in tension and the threat of a ceasefire. According to the Financial Times, Ukrainian Air Forces detected 537 attacks from Russia.
Ukrainian air defense forces reported the downing of 211 drones and 38 missiles from the total. These attacks indicate Russia's efforts to weaken Ukrainian air defense, the publication's representatives noted.
President Zelensky expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased F-16 pilot Maxim Ustyimenko: 'Today he destroyed seven air targets. My condolences to the family and comrades. I have instructed to clarify all circumstances of the death. The Ukrainian aviation is heroically defending the sky. Thank you to everyone who protects Ukraine.'
It is worth noting that as a result of the massive air attack by the Russian Federation, in a battle on an F-16 aircraft, pilot 1st class Lieutenant Colonel Maxim Ustyimenko was killed.
Ukrainian officials anticipate further escalation and Russian offensives on Ukrainian fronts during the summer.
Attacks on Ukraine were carried out from three directions - south, east, and north. Monitoring groups have recorded over 450 targets of various types using maps of missiles and drones that were published on the Telegram channel 'Air Defense Radar'.
