Kurakhiv Reservoir Dam Explosion: Authorities Report Consequences.

According to the head of the administration of Kurakhiv city military, water is still flowing from the damaged dam at the Kurakhiv Reservoir, but fortunately, the houses have not been flooded yet.
He also reported that due to shelling from occupiers, observers have not been able to inspect the damage to the dam yet.
We still couldn't go out to inspect this dam. Water continues to flow below the Ternivska dam. I contacted my colleagues. There is no critical situation yet, houses are not flooded.
Padun also reported that the Russian army has long been trying to damage the dam.
The dam may be partially damaged, for example, one of the gates. The enemy has been trying to breach the dam for the last three months. The dam design anticipates that the water level cannot reach the reservoir level. There is a critical water level that can overflow, and a level that remains stable.
It is worth recalling that on November 11, the Russian army damaged the dam of the Kurakhiv Reservoir in the Donetsk region, which led to an increase in water level within the Velikonovosilkivska community.
According to the US War Institute, the occupants attacked the dam of the Kurakhiv Reservoir in order to cause prolonged flooding to the west of the reservoir, which could help Russia encircle Ukrainian forces to the north and south of Kurakhove.
