Germany and Britain prepare for attack - will sign special agreement.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, and the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, will sign a bilateral defense partnership agreement in London on July 17. The document provides for mutual support in case of armed aggression.
This was reported by Bloomberg, citing a source in the German government.
Preparation for Attack
According to media sources, the signing ceremony will take place at the Victoria and Albert Museum in the British capital.
A source from the agency noted that the initiative is a response to the escalation of military threats from Russia, as well as the growing concern of European states regarding the reliability of U.S. defense guarantees within NATO - especially in light of Donald Trump's return to the White House.
At the same Time, the German side emphasizes that the new agreement does not replace the key principle of NATO's collective security outlined in Article 5, but only complements the existing security architecture in Europe.
The agreement also provides for strategic technological cooperation. In particular, it involves the joint development of a new high-precision long-range missile system, Deep Precision Strike, capable of targeting objects over 2,000 kilometers away. It is planned to be created within the next decade.
Despite the fact that the United Kingdom remains one of the two nuclear states in Europe (along with France), the new agreement does not mention the use of nuclear weapons or their role in joint defense. Germany, it should be noted, does not have its own nuclear arsenal and is under the protection of the American 'nuclear umbrella.'
This defense alliance is the result of prolonged negotiations that started in August 2024 during Starmer's visit to Berlin. At that time, the British Prime Minister described the agreement as a step towards 'resetting relations' between the two leading states in Europe based on trust and strategic unity.
Meanwhile, Germany's Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that German troops are ready to use force against Russian military forces.
And Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the intention to put the country's Armed Forces on 'combat readiness.'
Keir Starmer and Friedrich Merz decided to sign a defense partnership agreement that provides for mutual support in case of armed aggression. This was a response to the escalation of military threats from Russia and the growing concern in Europe regarding the reliability of U.S. defense guarantees. The new agreement complements the existing security system in Europe and provides for strategic technological cooperation, which is expected to lead to the creation of a new high-precision missile system.Read also
