Ministry of Defense on the situation at the front in February: Fewer clashes, but more airstrikes.


According to the Ministry of Defense, the number of combat clashes at the front decreased in February compared to January. However, the number of airstrikes by the Russian aviation on the positions of the Defense Forces increased. This is reported by 'Hromadske' citing the Ministry of Defense report.
In February, there were 3,274 combat clashes, which is less than in January (5,087). The Russian aviation conducted over 3,522 guided aerial bombs, compared to about 2,400 in January.
According to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian army lost 36,570 personnel in February. This is an approximate number of people that constitutes a motorized infantry division.
Additionally, according to the Ministry of Defense, the Defense Forces destroyed and damaged:
- 1,415 artillery systems of the Russian forces, enough to equip more than 78 artillery divisions;
- 331 Russian tanks, corresponding to 10 Russian tank battalions;
- 596 armored fighting vehicles, equivalent to the number of AFVs for approximately three motorized infantry divisions of the RF.
Representatives of the Ministry of Defense stated that in February, our troops destroyed the largest number of enemy vehicles throughout the entire period since the beginning of the Russian invasion (3,472 vehicles and tank trucks).
According to 'Hromadske', in February, Russian terrorists occupied 192 km² of Ukraine's territory. However, even with a decrease in enemy activity, the threat remains.
The war continues on the 1102nd day.
In the last 24 hours, there were 83 combat clashes. Ukrainian defenders managed to stop the enemy's attempts to advance deeper into the territory and inflicted fire damage on them.
The occupiers carried out one missile strike and 72 airstrikes, used one missile and 98 guided bombs, as well as deployed 1,098 kamikaze drones and conducted over 4,400 shellings of our positions and settlements.
