Kyslytsia explains to the UN Radbez the purpose of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Kursk operation.

The military operation started in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation with the aim of preventing a Russian advance on Sumy. This was reported by Ukraine's permanent representative to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsia.
Ukraine could not stand idly by watching the construction of a Russian military base in the Kursk region and Russia's readiness to attack the Sumy region, similar to the Russian advance on Kharkiv from the Belgorod region in May. In response to this threat, Ukraine began a defensive operation in certain areas of the Kursk region. These precautionary measures reduced the immediate danger of Sumy being occupied. The President of Russia showed his confusion, as he could not gather the strength and courage for several days to appear in public, - noted Kyslytsia.
Ukraine will continue to fight against this modern barbarism, including on the territory of Russia, - emphasized Kyslytsia.
