Innovative platform for demining: Ukrainian developers have compiled over 100 datasets.

Ukrainian developers have successfully integrated over 100 datasets from 26 different sources into the GRIT platform for automatic prioritization in the field of humanitarian demining. These data contain information about soils, economic activity, the state of social infrastructure, and the number of residents in communities.
Humanitarian demining is an extremely important task, and the GRIT platform, developed as part of a pilot project in the Kharkiv region, has resulted from the collaborative efforts of Ukrainian teams and specialists from Palantir. The use of artificial intelligence allows for complex analyses and informed decision-making, taking into account various criteria in natural, economic, social, and security aspects. In this system, a significant role is given to the human factor, as the final decision is always made by a person.
'Based on the collected data, AI can build models that allow answering complex questions. For example, if we have two identical plots in different communities in the Kharkiv region, the prioritization system will take into account the distance to the nearest grain elevator, the infrastructure network, etc. We have a large dataset, and this gives us quite a wide field for the application of AI and various algorithms. But the main thing is that the final decision will be made by a person,' said Igor Bezkaravainy, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
After the successful completion of the pilot project in the Kharkiv region, the Ministry of Economy began negotiations with Palantir and Ukraine's international partners to expand the GRIT platform to all regions where military actions are taking place.
Analysis:
The integration of various datasets into the humanitarian demining platform is an important step in the development of this field. The use of artificial intelligence and algorithms helps solve complex problems and provide more accurate results when making decisions. Scaling the GRIT platform to other regions of Ukraine will contribute to improving demining efforts and reducing threats to the population.
