Russia increases purchases of "sensitive goods" from India
According to the Financial Times, the Russian government plans to increase purchases of "sensitive goods" from India, as well as build manufacturing facilities in that country.
According to Russian government correspondence, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, which deals with defense production, developed a plan to purchase critical electronics worth 82 billion rupees ($1 billion) in October 2022. Russia is also considering investing in the development and production of electronics together with India.
Purchases of specific goods related to this project are listed in customs declarations. For example, Innovio Ventures from India was mentioned as a supplier of electronic equipment, including drones, worth over $4.9 million to Russia.
