The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection responded to rumors about poisonous avocado in Ukraine.

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection has reported that the information about the presence of poisonous avocado on the shelves of Ukrainian stores has not been officially confirmed. The head of the State Service, Serhiy Tkachuk, stated that there is currently no official information about the sale of hazardous products in Ukraine. The information received from the rapid alert system for risks is related to the fact that the Dutch have already decided not to spread the hazardous product.
The head of the State Service urged media representatives to verify information with the press service of the agency before publishing news about potentially dangerous products. Serhiy Tkachuk assured that the State Service will continue to protect consumers of imported products and ensure the safety of food products entering the Ukrainian market.
It is also worth mentioning the danger of sweets in supermarkets, which Ukrainians were informed about earlier.
