Will watermelons and melons become cheaper?

As explained in a comment to Novyny.LIVE by Ilya Neskhodovsky, head of the analytical direction of the National Interests Protection Network 'ANTS', the peak prices for fruits and vegetables in Ukraine have generally passed in June. Therefore, in July, the price of this product will be lower.

'From July onward, there will be a gradual slowdown in prices. However, a significant decrease is not expected. The late spring frosts negatively impacted the harvest, especially for those fruits that we grow, including stone fruits', he noted.

In general, according to the director general of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Confederation Pavel Koval, the increase in prices for berries and fruits from May 2024 to May 2025 was over 21-25%.

He also added that in July, prices for vegetables and fruits that are gradually arriving on the market will begin to decline. But this decrease will be small.
