Banks have reduced the issuance of mortgage loans - NBU.


Ukrainian banks issued 681 mortgage loans worth UAH 1.2 billion
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, in September banks issued 681 mortgage loan with a total amount of UAH 1.2 billion.
The volume of mortgage loans issued to the population decreased by 1.8% compared to the previous month and by 0.6% compared to September last year.
The effective interest rate on mortgage loans increased to 8.3% per annum in September, compared to 8.2% in August.
12 banks reported issuing new mortgage loans in September, most of which were concluded on the secondary real estate market under the 'єOselya' program.
The most loans were issued in Kyiv and the Kyiv region (371 agreements for UAH 714.8 million, which is 59.3% of the total volume), Lviv region (38 agreements for UAH 72.3 million), Odesa region (30 agreements for UAH 47.9 million), and Vinnytsia region (25 agreements for UAH 41.9 million).
A survey conducted in October 2024 showed that 39 banks hold 98.9% of the total gross mortgage portfolio as of the end of 2021.
