230 hryvnias per kilo: how prices for carp, herring, and mackerel changed in September.

Fish prices in Ukraine
Interesting price changes are happening in the Ukrainian fish market, reflecting changes in demand and supply for different types of fish. According to the Ministry of Finance, prices for some types of fish have undergone significant changes in the past month, while others have remained almost unchanged.
Carp, a popular freshwater fish, showed the most significant price changes. The cost of live carp dropped from 184.36 UAH per kilogram in August to the current average price of 164 UAH, a significant drop of 11%. However, the situation with gutted carp is different – its price, on the contrary, rose from 214 UAH to 229 UAH per kilogram, an increase of 7%.
Lightly salted herring, a favorite product of many Ukrainians, also demonstrated a price increase. The average price of a kilogram of herring increased from 166.16 UAH in August to the current 171 UAH, an increase of 2.9%.
An interesting situation has developed with fresh frozen mackerel. Its average price remained unchanged at 177 UAH per kilogram both in August and now.
It is worth noting that fish prices vary significantly depending on the store. For example, in Auchan, the price of live carp is 159 UAH per kilogram, while in Megamarket, the price for the same fish is 169 UAH. The difference in prices for lightly salted herring is even more noticeable: from 149 UAH in Novus to 185 UAH in Megamarket per kilogram.
